I entered AirBNB to locate a house for rent for a week in January in Megeve France.I have never worked with them before, therefore didnot know how the payment is being processed.I sent inquries to more then 10 houses and started getting replies.I got some of the replies confused. Anyway at some point it narrowed down to 2 houses and I decided for one of them. The owner contacted me directly. I didnt realize that and I do not know how they retrieved m mail. The owner asked me to transfer the amount of 2500 Euro to the bank account of AirBNB at a bank in UK.
The mail address bore the AirBNB mail.Had I been a computer expert I might have understood there was something wrong.But it seemed OK.
After paying contact with owner was lost and I now understand that a scam was played on me. Funds were transferred by my bank.
