We paid the full cost of renting (or rather, trying to rent) a condo in Toronto. After delays - hours - after the check in time, we were told via text to proceed to the unlocked condo. It was immediately obvious that the condo was not fit for occupancy: there was WET PAINT still on the walls, splattered paint over most floors, painted wall light switches, painting around wall pictures (!), the stove was filthy, dirt in several corners, missing closet doors, and the list goes on. Airbnb had to intervene and finally stated that we could have given the owner time to fix these deficiencies! The owner refunded part (a minority of a payment - less than half). No further refund from the owner which is just wrong and a refund from Airbnb of the service fee of about $95 Canadian & a whopping Canadian $50 for future bookings. Pathetic!
