received a reservation email from airbnb which i take as being legit since my other reservations are from there as well. [email protected].
the email asked for a bank deposit to a fake airbnb bank account in barclays bank PLC.
account name: airbnb
account number: 33331660
iban:GB61 BARC 2092 6333 3316 60
swift code: BARCGB22
How can i get a scam email from their email address?
My other legitimate credit card reservations were done through [email protected] Even the host has kept in contact me throughout the ordeal. Ive made a bank deposit recall and notified my bank of the scam and local scamwatch. i think next ill contact the barclays bank. Ive received no reply from airbnb about the [email protected].

  • Barclays Bank will call you and apologize, but tell you they can't do anything, as long as you don't have an order from the court ....
I filed charges against AirBNB and Barclays Bank not just with UK Police but also Police in Germany.
And I sent all my eMails from AirBNB to BBC! One lady here wrote she got ALL her money back, after she sent anything to BBC.

  • thanks Lillian. ill do the same. im waiting for evidence that the email is not from airbnb and is indeed a scam. my email was from [email protected] which I have legitimate reservations from also. ill let you know how I go. airbnb has deleted all correspondence between me and host from the airbnb app but ive got them saved as email. I think we may have been email spoofed. where the sender name is forged. airbnb shouldn't use email and they should warn about bank transfers to Barclays bank as all the scams are to the same place for over a year now.

  • Hello Lillian and Patrick. I have been victim of the same scam you have. Aibnb also says they have nothing to do with it. But they haven't contacted Barcalys to ask them NOT to open an account in Airbnb's name even after the scammers have done it repeatedly. By doing so and by letting crooks advertise on their site, they are party to the scam! Lillian how did you contact the BBC? I want to do the same. Thanks for sending me the information (Personal Information Removed). Antoine
