I have booked a holliday villa in Croatia, from a false owner i found on AirBNB. The scam is almost the same as other AirBNB reported scams.
I contacted the owner to ask for availability.
He replied and sent me an email adress for further details. We continued conversation on email an he told me i will receive the transaction forms from AirBNB. I got an email who looked genuine, especialy that all the links lead to the site. I sent the money in a bank account, belonging to a fake AirBNB agent, opened at Barclays Bank, Leicester, England.
Fortunately, i only sent an advance and realised couple of days later that it was a scam that happened to lots of people. I hope to find a way of getting my money back. Any suggestions, please?

- Yes. I fell for this scam on Monday 24th June. I live in the UK. I have just been refunded the full amount by Airbnb after failing with banks& Airbnb turned to the BBC London to help. Within 5 hours I received a call saying that payment would be refunded to me.

i have fallen for this scam except the email was from [email protected], which i have been getting legitimate reservations from as well!
sarah could you please tell me how you got them to refund you. they have only sent me an automated email saying that they weren't liable for losses. thanks pat -

- I was scammed booking accomadation in makarska Croatia 2st july. same people most likely. host aida novak [email protected] but im sure if she is involved or even a real person.

- I think I will be scammed too on airbnb . it was too good to be true! i got a different "bank account" from bnb! can you please send the full history of your communication with these guys + that airnb email that looks genuine ? I don'w want to be scammed too. This is my e-mail (Personal Information Removed)
