On August 8, I ordered on line from www.laptoptown.com a power cord for my lap top.

I paid a total of $43.58. $27.99 was for the express shipping which is stated on the website. It stated that 1-2 days possibly for USPS Express Mail when I ordered.

I had a scheduled travel date on the weekend and the worst case scenario was that I would get it Monday.

I did not receive the delivery until August 14th. I sent 3 separate emails to the company and did not get a reply from them until the 13th stating that my package was on its way. The delivery was sent from New Brunswick, NJ and shipped to Chicago, IL. It came in a normal express package that most likely cost an actual $15. To ship express mail between the 2 distances. I took the packaged to the post office to confirm the actual shipping cost. What Laptoptown actually wants to charge for the shipment is clearly up to them especially if the consumer accepts the charge as I did. However, they need to have it delivered accordingly to the description of the delivery. I received my delivery as a priority 5 days after I ordered the item. According to their delivery description 3-5 days it was a priority delivery and the fee for that 3-5 delivery is $7.99. I have simply asked them for the difference, which is $20.99.

At first they simply said they were sorry for the delivery delay, but could not offer a refund. After 2 email correspondence about this they said they could offer a $5.00 refund. At this stage I found the experience of this company insulting and feel like I have been taken. I find that the shipping policy certainly is misleading if not fraudulent. My last correspondence with Laptoptown, they offered a refund of $9.00 and requested that I end my complaint.

I normally would have accepted this but I do feel there is a fraudulent shipping policy here and it is clearly misleading (certainly for my delivery). And the company's handling of this certainly is very suspect. Since I have requested a refund in the difference they have added an extra day (1 -3 days) now on their express delivery time period.

I made a copy of shipping policy.

I am willing to take this to small claims court but Pay Pal recommended your site 1st.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
