I started getting these "package file invalid" errors on my phone around the 6th. I let it go for a week and then finally called Boost Mobile. They told me it was a "network issue" because they were upgrading their towers for 4g. So the question became "what on earth does software issues have anything to do with the network?". They told me that if the issue hasn't been resolved in 24 hours, to call them back. I did. I got the same excuse. I called them for 4 days straight and still the same excuse. Today, I went to Sprint to ask them if there were any outages and they said no. I explained what was going on and they even said that it has nothing to do with the network. It is a phone issue. So, for the passed 4 or 5 days Boost Mobile had, in essence, been lying to me. They took my monthly fee of $50 on the 16th, 3 days ago.
