We found a villa in bali through flipkey. Through the companies website we made contact the the "owner". The fake owner, a David Furgerson , had hacked into flipkey's website and intercepted our email request. We had no idea that we were not talking with the actual owner. All of the villas in Bali require upfront payment, which ironically flipkey advises against. We sent the money to David (UK bank account) and a Thomas Darin (China bank account). Immediately before our vacation we were given the actual owners email address 1 day prior to our departure from David Furgerson and that is when we found out that we had been scammed. The actual owners felt very bad and offered us a discount so we went on our holiday anyway. Our advice: do not use flipkey. They will not stand by their service. If we get any resolution to this we will update this site.
