Booked accommodation via airbnb using their secure credit card booking system, only to have the Host (Aime Costa) decline the booking with information that they had previous experience with bookings not being paid, therefore were requesting a funds transfer, which would be generated by airbnb and forwarded by email. Within 20 minutes an email from '[email protected]' was received, all looked legit with banking details provided and a airbnb guarantee included. Once the funds had left our Australian bank account we asked the host for specific property details to which no information was forthcoming and the property listing on airbnb, by this time had been removed and the phone number provided/verified "no longer in service"......... :-(
