I signed up on this website looking for a room to rent or share in a home. I originally signed up on 7/31/11 and authorized them to list my profile a 3 day period for $5.95. Four or five days later on 8/5/11 I notice an additional charge of $29.95 online on my banking statement. I immediately began trying to contact Roomster customer service and to no avail could find no 800 number, it all had to be done by email (how convenient). So I canceled my subscription with them and began the painstaking process of trying to recoup my non-authorized withdrawal of $29.95. To my own consumer ignorance they advised me in their email response that it was way way down in the fine print that you have to cancel your membership or you will be charged. Excuse me, I never asked for a membership...I only asked you to post my profile for 3 days and agreed to pay you $5.95 for your services which I did.

This following paragraph is a direct copy and paste quote from one of the several online complaints that I have since found who had the exact same experiences with this fradulant company as I did. It appears that this is how they make their money: (After E-Mailing their customer service "help desk" back and forth all they can tell me was that it said in the fine print you have to cancel your membership or you'll be charged! WHAT? Are you kidding me what membership, it asked me to choose an option and I chose to pay 5 dollars and some change to post my AD for 4 days I didn't want a membership what gives them the right to take money from my account when I didn't authorize it. What they did was sneaky and I'd advise everyone not to use their site at all).

My sentiments exactly because this is what happened to me. Why do companies have to be sneaky and steal honest peoples hard earned money in order to make a profit?
