Just like everybody else I installed this program because I thought it was recommended by Microsoft.I could not remove it from my computer and it kept finding all these problems every time I ran it .I became suspicious so called the number on the page and talked to a "tech".He was very chatty and first said I had a very good computer but it is very slow.So he is going to fix it.Kept assuring me he was a Microsoft Certified Tech.Unlike some others on here He assured me it would not cost me anything.I gave him control of it and then he showed me something that said I had over 20000 problems.Then I asked him where he was located and he said India.Not good I am thinking.I told him I wanted to end the session and he said he would have another tech talk to me.So this one wanted me to sign on to my Email account while he had control of my computer.I told him NO.Then he got arrogant and said fine then I can't fix your computer and he was mumbling something and hung up.
Solution: I went directly to the Microsoft website and sure enough it did not have that software program on it.I talked to one of their techs and he said he looked the company up and they were not listed with Microsoft.He had never heard of them.
He had me try to uninstall the program the usual way but it would not allow it.(I had already tried it anyway)He then wanted to take control of my computer also .I was a little hesitant but after checking the address bar to make certain I was on their website I allowed it.He finally used Norton to remove it.It has been fine since.I paid with Pay Pal so will be attempting to get my money back.
Also the tech at Microsoft was named Alejandro.So he knows ljust what to do now.
