I had a transaction on my debit card from a company I didn't recognize. I called the number listed and got a recording saying "please wait for a representative...blah blah blah." I waited and someone said "HI, this is (a woman's name) how can I help her? I thought I had a real person and started to talk, and then the same message was repeated, adding "if you can hear us, please hang up and call again" I did that, and this time got the first recording to please hold, but no one ever answered. At that point I searched the internet and discovered fraud reports against this "company". I was lucky, it was a very small amount. But I had to cancel my card, which is going to entail a ton of work as I have automatic bill pays set up on that card.
The phone number listed was 800-795-2512ca (California? which is the state I live in)
