We recently move our internet service to AT&T and during the install they turned off my firewall on my remote laptop in my house. Evidently Fast PC Solutions found it unprotected and left us a virus that caused a problem with our security certificates. Then when we were looking at the certificate error a window pops up and says "if you would like to speak with a technician the enter your name and phone number. We did it just to see what would happen and sure enough some jerk called and wanted to log on to our system to fix it and started telling us he could clean the viruses off for $170. The only way they could possibly have know about any kind of problem on our system was to have a monitoring virus actually on our system. Not sure if the have a bot that is spreading the virus or if it is coming in email or what but it has to be present. I am going to have to completely wipe the drive, re-partition and reload it completely.
