Today, July 27, 2012, I received a phone call from Global Connect Cloud stating that they represented Microsoft. They claimed that my computer was infected with many viruses and on behalf of Microsoft, which monitors computers worldwide, they would remove them. I found that to be highly unusual. I quickly turned off my computer and insisted to speak to a supervisor. They kept insisting that I should turn on my computer so they could help me. I asked for a call back number. The call dropped and I called them back. I also found it strange that they were calling from a 347 exchange and not a 800. I then call Microsoft tech support and was told that Microsoft had not commissioned Global Connect Cloud to conduct business of it behalf. BEWARE!
