Complaint 126040 Details Scan your bills for fraud

In order to pay an eBay vendor this week Paypal required me to submit a bank account number for my account file even though I always use my credit card on Paypal, have NEVER defaulted on a payment and have over $10,000 in credit on the card. If I didn't submit the number the vendor would not get paid, I would lose the item and get blacklisted on eBay, which owns Paypal so I submitted an account number. Three days later I discovered that Paypal had debited my bank account for subsequent purchases and caused me overage charges. When I contacted Pp and spent over 70 minutes talking to three agents I was told they were sorry and the company should have explained that from now on the bank account would be my default setting. I was told the only way to avoid this was to either go in my account each time and temporarily change to the credit card or close this account and open a new one using a totally new card number. Paypal would not refund to my account and repay the vendors using my credit card on file and it would not refund my overage charges.
