We received a flyer in the mail inviting us to a free seminar (including a free meal) about starting an online business and we would receive a free mp3 player just for attending. We attended the seminar and listened to the schpiel about how easy it was to do this business, all transactions were done online and we could "sell" any product we wanted and it would be dropped shipped by the manufacturer. Well it all sounded too good to be true, but my wife was interested in doing it and it would have provided additional income that we certainly could have used. So reluctantly I agreed but I specifically explained to the seminar leader that my debit card was NOT to be charged until after the 1st of the month because it would overdraw our checking account and he agreed to the arrangement. In addition to the seminar they told everyone that if they signed up to do the business that they would be required to attend an additional 1 on 1 training session a couple of weeks later in a nearby city.
Well we were NOT told that the additional training would also cost an additional amount. In fact we were led to believe that it was included in the registration. A few days later we were contacted by our financial institution that our account was seriously overdrawn and they suspected fraud. We explained the situation as briefly as possible to our financial institution and then contacted the company and were treated very rudely and talked down to when they claimed that they explained all of that info to us at the training session, and that they would continue automatically charging our card every month for the cost of the training session. Well we worked with our credit union to close our account and reopen it with a different number and were issued new debit cards as well. The company continued calling my wife and harassing her and eventually turned her over to a collection agency with the claim that we owed them over $1,000. Eventually the phone calls and letters stopped coming. However the issue has never been fully resolved. Even the BBB was of no help. In addition to being seriously ripped off we never received the MP3 players that we were promised at the original seminar. My advice to anyone else is if you receive an invitation in the mail to attend a free seminar to start a home business and receive a free meal and mp3 player or some other "free"gift check to see if it is from Stores Online.com and DO NOT attend. Completely steer clear of this company. They are a fraud.
