I recently was told by Credit One Total that I was pre-qualified for two unsecured loans however, in order to receive these loans I would have to have my credit score raised. They told me if I paid 492.00 I could have them to dispute my credit and within 2-3 weeks (no longer than 30 days) I would be able to get 1 or both loans.
Now they are telling me that during the dispute process I have accrued some inquiries and I became delinquent in a few of my credit accounts and now I would have to pay them an additional 300.00 to dispute these new marks on my credit.
First of all, It took them well beyond the 30 days to complete the process. Had they completed the process in a timely manner, I would not have accrued the negative marks on my credit, nor would I have became delinquent in my current loans. (before I started the whole process with them, I was current on all of my credit accounts. By my having to pay them the $492.00 fee, it caused me to fall delinquent and therefore should be taken into consideration) Also, they told me that there were new inquiries that showed up on my credit report. I informed them that I had not applied for any credit with any company. After reviewing the names of the two companies, they informed me that these were two companies that they conducted business with but they still would not be able to ask them to extend me credit because it would be "after the fact" that they had previously denied me credit. Apparently, they submitted my information to the loan companies without my knowledge. By them doing so gives them a reason to say that I am at fault for violating the contract agreement and gives them grounds to refuse me a loan. They also stated that I would be refunded the $492.00 once I complete the process but I have yet to receive any refund.
