This is an update from an earlier posting. I am still going after a refund after purchasing the MaxPC computer cleanup service in April. I have been given the runaround for months, promising a refund will show up on my credit card. I was out of town most of the summer but since April no refund was initiated. I should never have believed their promises, for my credit card company will only dispute a charge within 118 days of purchase and their promises went past this time frame. Consumers feel stupid when things like this happen but understand that these companies know so many of these angles, that we are at a loss even before we begin a purchase. The headquarters is supposed to be in Wilmington, Delaware. What it their phone number? The same number that connects you to India where the technicians have heavy accents and are given the lines of bull (Inappropriate Content Removed) ( by their employer or they are probably fired) they dish out over and over to the consumer. When one of the managers in India gave me their "gateway" financial instution's number, the representqative there told me they had "dropped" Max PC in March-my purchase was in April. Called Max PC again today and they could not give me the name of the new financial support system they use because they have had "security" issues, so now I am awaiting an e-mail confirmation of the time, date and all of the particulars of the refund. And if this company has had security issues with their "gateway" financial second party carrier do you think the consumer feels safe with them? I have serious doubts that I will ever get my money back but I will write back to this site if I do. I called the Delaware Attorney General's office today and their office is also in Wilmington. I HOPE that they personally go to the address and find someone who they can threaten or intimidate, for you cannot reach MaxPC by phone.Meanwhile, know how long your credit card company can issue a dispute and better yet, go through PayPal or a secure pay site. Do NOT go with this company if you expect clear, honest and reliable service and communication. And if you live in Wilmington Delaware, and find a phone number for this outfit, please post it on this site.
