Computer problems, found a website while looking for help and they rang me to pay for and download a program to help with computer protection/speed.

Since then, every week getting random calls to the house telling my computer is at risk and I just hang up.

Original cost was only $45.00 US, even though I live in Australia. The nuisance calls are annoying and say they are linked with Microsoft.

Easter Monday 1/4/2013 we got a call telling me we were ripped off by a scam artist for $145.00. When I asked the indian caller said it was eProtection and I only had been stung for a little amount compared to lots of other clients. He said most had been hit for $400+ dollars. He wanted me to go to the computer and he would direct me how to link to a government site to get my refund, all I had to do was follow instructions. I didn't believe him, asked for a contact number (1300 774 748) and website - when he abruptly hung up.
