I went to Realty gurus to rent a house. Xavier took my first months rent, security deposit and application fee. We were told that he had to speak to the owner on 2/23/2013 before he deposited the check. When my husband called him on the 23rd, he said the owner was reviewing our application and now we had to wait until the 26th when the check cleared to hear anything. On Monday my husband called our bank who said the check was cashed on the 22nd, the same day we gave it to him. We tried calling him but no answer. I then did a google search of his name and his mug shots came up. I then went to find an alternative number for this man. I found one on a house listing on a website called Zillow. When we called that number it wasnt to Realty Gurus, but to the owner himself. We explained our situation. The owner said he would call Xavier and call us back. When he called Xavier, he asked how was the search for tenants going, Xavier told him he hasn't found anyone interested in the house yet. The owner then stated he was lying because he had just spoken to my husband, and that we gave money for the house and filled out an application. Xavier states that was a lie that we were just trying to ruin his business. We faxed the owner over the receipts from what we paid with Xavier's signature. He refuses to pay us back our money.
