I was called out of the blue in June. The man with an Indian accent told me that there had been a lot of hacking and he wanted to check my computer for infections. I doubted himn, but for some reason went along with his instructions - foolishly ended up paying for a year's subscription. He called again today for a "routine checkup and upgrade." I told him I didn't have time today. I'm sure he will call back. I asked him where he was and he said "California" When the company first called back in June, I talked with Shane Lee from New Jersey, then Richard Smith, then Zach Williams from California. I keep careful watch on my credit card and haven't seen any unknown charges, but I'm very wary and worried.
