me and my partner purchased an engagement ring together, my partner asked for the diamond to be mid range, i found one thst i loved and were led to believe it was mid range. We purchased the ring for $8,000. A few days later my partner proposed and it wasnt until later in the night that i noticed what looked like a huge crack down the middle of the diamond, we took it to a different jewellers and they said it was low range definately not mid range! we took it back to zamels the next day and the sales lady that sold us the ring was very rude and pretty much said "you have purchased the ring, we cannot refund the money" we argued and let her know that it had ruined the surprise and the night. She agreed to swap it over and resize it, it was also very scratched so i asked for it to be buffed. to my surprise i had to pay $98!!! 3 days later the ring was ready to be picked up, i travelled to the city and picked it up, it was not buffed, i was so angry, i said i wanted it buffed an had paid for it, she then asked for another $30 and said it would be a week. I refused and walked out. i am absolutely appalled at this!!! they refused to give us the head office's number. i dont know what to do!!

  • The exact same thing happened to us with the price and my partner told it was "flawless and really high quality" then our Diamond certificate came a week or so later not showing this, and we can see the dark shadowing of a crack and dark spots.

Also had to return it after they re-sized it as they didn't check the claws (thought to be standard procedure after decreasing the size) as the diamond could be turned and clicked when shaken.

Appalled at how we were treated going back to have it re-sized and then again to be fixed, after my partner said they couldn't be nicer when he was spending the money.
