I called ATT to order U-verse Internet and the representative signed me up for ATT tech support that was supposed to be free. Told me that she needs my credit card and there will appear 9.99 in pending transactions but it will not go thru because it is just for safety reason. She also told me that I need to call and cancel tech support in 7 days if I don't want them to charge me. Also because I will have the tech support I will get $50 gift card not matter if I keep or cancel the tech support. With this gift card I will be able to cover my ATT activation fee. And that was fine but when I called ATT to cancel this tech support no one knew what I am talking about, no one could identify the tech support and I was said I don't have to cancel anything because there is no tech support on my account. I got to my credit card transactions and there was 9.99 charge so I called the number there and I found out that it is not ATT but MyTechHelp.com I don’t understand how ATT can let that happen and manipulate someone into signing for service otter that ATT without even notification. This is a FRAUD. I won't leave it like that. I am in the process of canceling the Tech support but I don’t know yet if I will be able to do it according to other complains with this company.

  • The problem is that you called an authorized retailer for ATT, not their corporate number. I used to work for the company that sells this for them, it's called Clearlink and is located in Salt Lake City, UT. They own the website www.attsavings.com which advertizes for ATT but routes to them for sales.

There are sales quotas that have to be met so they force you to "attach" it to every sale.

It's unethical and deceitful and I no longer affiliate myself with that company because of their shady sales practices.

Don't be upset with My Tech Help or ATT. It's ATT's choice to keep Clearlink on as a major sales partner and I feel that they have a responsibility to their customer's to make sure that all sales calls are legitimate, but it's definitely Clearlink's fault for signing people up for the My Tech Help service without their general interest or sometimes without their permission.
