I received a call from StreamlineOnline, LLC, 3219 Camelback Rd, Su 801, Phoenix AZ 85018, 800-961-6583. The person calling said his name is John Lamb.

He sold me a web package. I would be advertising Amazon products. Sounded good. Cost was not out of sight, only $217.

I was even given the web url. Recently, when I tried to access the url, my computer messaged "connection is untrusted." My computer skills are not really good, so I could be doing something wrong.

Later, I received a call from a female, to set up an appointment to talk about advertising my site. The appointment was for 2 p.m., 9 August, a Tuesday. No call came on that date.

On Wednesday, 10 August, I received a second call from a female voice asking to set up an appointment again. We agreed that 11 August at 3 p.m. would work.

A person who identified himself as chief of advertising, John William, called around 3:15 p.m on 11 August. I first noticed some hesitation when I asked for his name, and position with the company. We got past that and he gave me the usual song and dance about advertising my site. Cost would be only $15,000.

I explained to Mr William that I do not have $15,000 -- another scammer beat him to the credit cards. He excused himself from the call for a moment or two, then came back on the line with a better offer, $4,500. I could not even pay that.

Mr William suggested that I ask for the credit card company to increase my limit, and once he actually realized I was not going to do that, his tone of voice changed very quickly from that upbeat, positive, encouraging salesperson who was telling me how wealthy I would be, to a condescending tone, more like a sneer. He was unusually fast to point out how unworthy I am to consider making money online. He even told me I would never make money online. I think he hung up on me.

Immediately, I sent an email requesting a refund of the $217. No response. Again, one week later, I sent a second request for a refund. Still no response.

When I checked the BBB in Phoenix AZ, the company had had a few complaints, however all but one was settled to the satisfaction of the customer.

Next step is to file a report with FTC.

  • I have the impression that the website is for life but I read the fine print that's it's only for 1 year. for 1 year, $217.00 is pretty darn expensive. so don't be a victim:)
