In a Company relocation I had to move from CO to GA inside of a week. I hired Move builders/ABF/Padded Wagon to move my 850 sq ft 2 BR apartment.
They started off by scamming up after the quote on an article that had been originally listed. +$200.
I had been assured by the company that I would NOT be billed until delivery... They billed before the truck even left the state.
After delaying delivery by almost 4 days, They send a pair of guys out with broken equipment to unload the trailer... finally.
about an hour into the unloading they start talking about extra charges for stairs, adding an extra day to unload.
Long and short, they just called and want MORE money because of a footage issue or some crap with a bulkhead adding more footage to the load.
Hiring a moving company is supposed to make the move easier.
These amateurs added more stress than if I had rented a U-haul and hired a pair of drunks to load and unload and done this myself.
I would have saved myself thousands of dollars and a ton of headaches
