Recieved a call from someone sounding like my grandson, claiming to be in custody in Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic, and, this was his one phone call prior to being encarcirated if he couldn't post bail.

I was transfered (susposedley) to Sgt. John Miller at the U.S. Consulate who outlined my options to ensure my grandson could leave the country on his scheduled flight in two days, and, avoid encarciration.

I was then given specific instructions on how to transfer the bail money to the US Consulate via Western Union, which I did, and called Sgt. Miller to confirm the transfer had taken place.

I later traced the phone number given to me as Sgt. Miller's number at the US Consulate (514-443-5299) and found the number is in Montreal, QC, in the name of Pq Montreal, landline, Phone Carrier: Roger Williams. I then did a people search and found on matching name: Peggy Montreal, 360 N. Garfield Ave, Port Washington, WI, phone 262-268-9809, household members Steve and Steven Montreal. No filed complaints were found.

I now recognize the entire episode was an example of collasal stupidity on my part. I nonetheless want to report the incident, and if at all possible catch the criminals.
