A pop up appeared while i was surfing the internet said i would get a US $3000 discount on a holiday. After 40 minutes on the phone, I was signed up, $898 for the trip (5days /4 nights at Calypso Cay Resort, 4 days/3 ngihts at Daytona, 3 days in the bahamas, and and extra 5 days/4 nights in cancun in mexico, plus for an upgrade of only $102, all meals and drinks included. After calming down and thinking straight, I googled the places had payed up for, only to find out this is a scam. I called my bank about 4 hours later, and of course the money had been withdrawn already, so my bank cancelled my card and started their investigation to try and recover my money. Then I sat down and wrote a letter to to cancel as we do not meet the terms and conditions, ie, we are on government benefits and do not meet the $40000 per year qualification, in other words we do not work and do not have funds of that size. I posted and sent a letters on the 18 january 2012 to Start Vacationing Now, care of Summer Bay Resort,to cancel, (as I understand they are a parent company and also part of the scam) in Clermont, Florida, and also sent a letter to cancel to PGR in Winter Park, Florida. By their Terms and conditions I have 30 days to cancel, so it will be interesting to see if I am refunded as I have a ligitimate claim. I also have the Express post details and Australia Post can scan and tell me when these letters wer delivered.Also, they tried a 2nd time to withdraw funds again, WITHOUT my permission, but as my card had been cancelled they couldn't get any more. I hope all will be awake to this lot, scammers of the first degree.
