I had a 14 day trial and paid shipping to see if I liked their product, right after they shipped the trial they started immediatley charging my account which wasn't authorized. I contacted the company immediately they said they would refund my account and as of today they still have't credited back my account. I contacted my bank and they are pursuing fraud charges. Nothing was authorized to deduct anything other than shipping which was like $3 or $5. samething with Purasilk both were advertising using their products for 14 day trial both did the same thing. I received their products 1/6/2012 and the instantly billed my account and of course I didn't even get a chance to use for the 14 day trial. It is a scam. When contacting them they were very rude and finally said tehy were recersing the charges and they still haven't that was 1/13/2012.

  • Dear Park68: I was also scammed by a similar facial product called Pura Silk: parent co. is Natural Health Network. Two or more offices in the U.S. with an 800 phone number for customer "service". I made a huge mistake I will NEVER make again: I did NOT read the "terms & conditions" BEFORE I agreed to the 14 day trial of Pura Silk! Big mistake, since the day after my order was placed, two charges appeared on my credit card statement, one for $25.87 and the other, more alarming, for $89.99. I immediately took all legal steps necessary to get myself out of the mess I had unwittingly created for myself, and at the worst possible time: during the Christmas Holiday season! I fought with their company reps! They were rude and very unhelpful. I heard "terms & conditions" and "Ma'aam" at least 5 times during one short conversation with a young lady who I could barely hear as she had her radio turned up so loud! And how could she hear me? I hung up after going nowhere fast, and phoned again, later on after I had cooled off. My anxiety level was sky-high. Thankfully, a much nicer man answered the phone that time, and I was able to secure a very important RETURN MERCHANDISE AUTHORIZATION number, which we must have in order to return the package back to them, ASAP in order to meet that 14 day trial "deadline" or I would have been legally liable for all charges that I had agreed to when I signed up for the $4.95 trial (aka scam). It cost me extra $ to pay for shipping charges and to have a tracking number so the company had to refund some of those charges as I know the package made it back to their warehouse within the 14 day trial. Those companies are like the pop up ads we have on-line. They pop-up, getting our attention and telling us we need their product because it is the BEST of course, and it will help get rid of those nasty wrinkles and lines we "detest." It seems that they encourage us to dislike how we look by their ads. Anyway, after working diligently and quickly I was able to receive an almost 100% complete refund of all charges, except for the $4.95 shipping charges. Why? Because I wrote them an email and also posted on their website (which, amazingly is STILL THERE WITH MY NEGATIVE COMMENTS AND COMPLAINTS) my opinion of their company and what their company had tried to do to me. I happen to be one of the fortunate people. Other people have not been as fortunate, since it seems they did not read the terms & conditions like I did, but in my case, I read them the very next day and realized with horror exactly what I had authorized them to charge on my credit card. I am hoping that by continuing to tell my story and sharing my own experiences with others, that fewer people will fall victim (as that is what we really are) to their scams. And if you check on-line as to one of the very best facial products available, it is through a very reputable company, Lancome and it got much higher "marks" than Pura Silk, in fact Pura Silk is not even listed there. I want to fight back! Please fight back NOW! You still have time. But, please try to find the terms & conditions that you did agree to, and hopefully you can figure some legal way out of it. It sounds like your trial period is over, which means that the company NueScience can legally charge your credit card that amount. Their telephone reps. will tell you that you did agree to the credit card charges when you signed up for the trial and basically it is your own fault for not reading the terms & conditions, and now you must abide by them. I would not give up, though. Tell them you plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in your area. (That seemed to work for another woman who was scammed like me re: Pura Silk. As soon as Natural Health Network received some kind of letter from the BBB in the Rhode Island, Maine area of the East Coast, she DID RECEIVE a complete credit back to her credit card.) I would definitely do that. Do NOT SEND future shipments back marked "Refused, Return to Sender" since you are still liable for the product cost! And send them an email to whichever address you have for their company, or a registered letter to whichever address you have, telling them to CANCEL ANY AND ALL FUTURE AUTO SHIPMENTS, PERIOD. And make and keep photocopies of everything in the event the dispute dept. of your credit card company needs them as proof that you did everything in your power, and legally to stop them from continually charging your credit card. I hope to hear good news from you one day! Christine
