I called the phone order line for 30-second smile. It takes your shipping information and your credit card number right up front. Then, the system proceeds through it's sales pitch. There is no way to stop the system, repeat, go back, or get to a live person. At the end of the call, it doesn't tell you how much your order costs, nor does it ask you to confirm your order. I never ordered any number of toothbrushes, but the system defaulted to my ordering 3 of them, and calculates a $14.95 shipping/handling charge for each ordered. Plus the whitening system (2 ordered) at the same $14.95 s/h fee each. Total that was extracted from my checking account was $254.45. The system tells you that your order will process in 2 days. I called the customer service line the next morning and was told that I had not ordered any by the man answering the phone. Something told me to call back later that evening, and sure enough, I was told I had ordered 3 toothbrushes and 2 whitening systems. 5 items ordered, plus s/h of $15.95 per item. I was also told there was no way to stop the order or cancel it because 'it had been processed'. I was told to ship them back when I received them, and I would get a refund, including the s/h charges. When the 2 small boxes arrived, I sent them back - everything, and I never opened the boxes. I called 3 more times while waiting for the refund over a month. I was assured each time that s/h charges would be refunded as well. Today, I called and was told that the s/h charges would NOT be refunded as I spoke to another representative, and then to a floor supervisor. I was issued a credit refund of $14.95 the first evening I found out that the system ordered 3 brushes. I was to return the remainder for the refund. After 5 weeks, I was finally issued a refund for 194.65, leaving me with $44.85 in charges that are 'not refundable' according to the floor supervisor. They should fix the phone ordering system to review and confirm the order, and teach their employees answering the phones that s/h charges are NOT refundable. I would NEVER recommend them.

  • Hi Diana, I work for the 30 Second Smile company. I am sorry that the order was placed after you tried to cancel it. We do advertise that s/p is nonrefundable but I am happy to pull the call recording of your order so I can hear what actually occurred and assist you. Please email me directly at [email protected] so I can get more information from you. Thank you, Mary

  • I heard from Diana and was able to pull the call recording and this was my findings I sent to Diana; "When you were offered up to three units due to high demand…it sounds like you say threpeat….so our system picked it up as three units not as repeat. You declined the upgrade for the unit but accepted the free enrollment in the Brushes for Life program. You even entered the last 4 digits of your card number to use as your electronic signature of acceptance. It when on to offer the whitening system at $14.95 s/p and you accepted two. At the very end, the offer was made for free rush processing by paying for your order in one payment. At first you said I want two 30 minute (I mean 30 Second) units and then agreed to the one payment plan.

So, from the call recording you wanted two units and two whitening systems. However, in the notes it states that you wanted one unit and were sent three along with two whitening systems. If what you really wanted was only one unit the cost would have been $74.85 ($59.90 plus $14.95 s/p). You were charged a total of $254.45 and refunded a total of $209.60 to date; the difference is $44.85…when you only should have been refunded $59.90 for the one unit you state you ordered.
So…in the long run you are coming out ahead." Mary
