Just this morning was looking at my DiscoverCard acct online and saw 2 charges, one for July 10 for $43.87, another for July 13 in the amount of $41.91. Went into my iTunes acct and saw no transactions in it for anything other than what I purchased. While I was still signed in to my iTunes acct, I called DiscoverCard and as I was speaking to them, the rep said she saw "another charge coming in as we speak," which was for 35 something dollars..... So, my fraudulent charges seemed to only occur when I signed in to iTunes (a good reason to BE SURE TO SIGN OUT OF ITUNES WHEN YOU'RE DONE!). Oddly, although I have $90 in credit sitting in my iTunes account from a Gift Card, that has not been touched so far....just my credit card info....DiscoverCard has been great, will be reversing the charges, but wouldn't say "for security reasons" whether or not this is a well-known scam when I asked that question. So, I Googled "APL *ITUNES (name as it appeared on my DiscoverCard recent activity) charges" and found out this scam has been going on ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2008????? Even for people who don't have or have never had an iTunes account. How come the FBI hasn't put a stop to these guys yet?

Anyway, after spending about 2 hours now researching this scam on the internet, here's a good piece of advice I ran across if you do use iTunes; don't enter any credit card information in your iTunes account profile, simply buy an iTunes gift card at Wal-Mart, Target, etc., and put that into your iTunes account so it's there when you want to use it.
