On October 27, 2011 my husband and I purchased a new Ford F250 – Diesel from World Ford Stone Mountain in Snellville, GA. The salesperson filled the tank with Diesel prior to our leaving the dealership. We live in Newnan, GA which is approximately 58 miles from our home.

Within 2 days of ownership (Oct 29, 2011) the vehicle’s ‘Check Engine’ light came on and a loud humming sound surfaced. Not wanting to drive with the check engine light on, we took the vehicle to a local dealer (Mike Fitzpatrick Ford – Newnan).

The initial analysis showed there was something wrong with the fuel pump. The dealership replaced the part – this did not fix the problem. After further analysis and bringing in diesel engine specialists, it was determined that the diesel put into our vehicle by the dealership was contaminated (with water).

The engineers and the dealership saw this same incident just prior to our situation (we were told) because another individual from Newnan purchased the same truck but his engine went dead within 80 miles of his purchase rather than within 500 miles. Stone Mountain Ford gave this individual (whose information we have) a new truck.

Mike Fitzpatrick Ford also has the evidence (i.e. the contaminated parts and fuel).

On Friday November 11, 2011 the Service Manager from Stone Mountain Ford indicated they would fix the truck (damages would be upwards of $10,000). When my husband communicated his concern with trying to fix such an issue, the Service Manager said he understood and would discuss further with the General Manager.

This morning on Monday November 14, 2011 the General Manager called my husband and told him that they would not replace nor fix the truck and the expense would be solely ours and we should discuss with our insurance company.

In summary,

· Stone Mountain Ford is not taking responsibility for an issue caused by the fuel “they” put into the truck

· They made a commitment on Friday to fix the truck that they are now unwilling to fulfill

· I find it discriminatory that they would replace someone else’s’ truck but not ours

· My husband uses this truck for his livelihood – he is a landscaper and needs a truck to pull his equipment. He was out of work for 12 days now due to this issue – and we have lost wages
