David Porter of Tiffinity Inc. hired me (graphic designer) to custom design his ecommerce site, unfortunately I was rather new to freelancing and didn't force a contract - big mistake. He refused any initial deposit, which should have been my first clue, but I was excited about his project and could use the money. Once the invoice came he disappeared from any form of communication. I did briefly saw a lawyer, but provided I had nothing in writing and the amount was $1500 I decided to not peruse.

I would do my due diligence intermittently and check back onto his site www.tiffinity.com to see if my unpaid work was being used. To my surprise one day, he didn't renew his domain! So, guess who owns the rights to his .ca and .com - He can buy it back at the cost of my lost wages plus interest, and a hefty inconvenience fee. Actually, he can buy it back with an additional $20,000 to compensate the other lost wages of those posted on this site. I'm not sure how likely that is to happen, but hey it's worth a shot and it is a cool business name!
