I was approached on June 8, 2015, by a salesperson from Global Efficient Energy at my home. She stated they were in the area, because it had been identified as a "high use" location. She offered to do a free energy audit and then made the sales pitch for solar panels, foam attic insulation, their "powermizer," garage door insulation, water heater blanket and outlet insulators. She worked up a bunch of figures showing that all the offered improvements should provide up to an 82% savings on my energy bills and she said the company assurance backed that I would save at least 50%. After they had the signed contract, I didn't hear from anyone for several weeks. I finally called the sales rep and asked why nothing was happening. She was surprised no one had followed up. This was only the beginning of a long, horrible story of a company who is only out there to rip people off. They didn't even have a truck to install the foam insulation they were selling and it didn't get installed until late August. They ruined the trim to the attic entry dragging the hose across it without protecting it and that wasn't repaired until November after I opened a BBB complaint against them. The put the panels on the roof around August and broke about 30 tiles in the process. I was promised they would be fixed immediately. They too were not fixed until I filed the BBB complaint. The system failed five inspections with the city. GEE didn't even follow their own installation diagrams when they put the system in and they broke their contract by using out-of-state contractors instead of licensed Nevada contractors. Subsequently, I saw absolutely no savings from the foam insulation and they are insisting I must wait a full year before I can make any claims for reimbursement (which is nowhere in the contract). On top of all that the system only generated $1.01 worth of electricity the first month it was operational. I live in Las Vegas, one of the sunniest locations in the U.S. They insulted me with a settlement offer for $15K for a system that doesn't save energy and I rejected it. They said they were going to remove the system and I agreed. I insisted it must be in writing. Now their legal advisor (Joe Soward) is trying to intimidate me. Don't use this company! Read their BBB complaints, they all say the same thing. Promises of huge energy savings with no results and then the company making excuses for not fulfilling those promises.
