Received a threatening call from "Impact Mediation" representing The Seven Group LLC claiming they were acting on behalf of them as a one time attempt to 'settle' a payday loan I took out in 2009 and never paid. They said I would be charged with a count of Attempt to Defraud a Financial Institution and wouldn't have the opportunity to speak with the Plaintiff before court. That alone is bull. They had parts of personal information and an old address. Just enough to ALMOST sound legit. Problem is, I didn't take this loan. They hung up when I wouldn't give them my cc information over the phone, they wouldn't mail any statements to my current address (didn't give it to them). I did get an email to my spam catcher with an attachment that was a simple Word document with no other information that the amount they were attempting to hustle from me. Over 1k! The company name is to a business that is either a family mediation service or a business that is no longer in existence. I tried to call them too. The address they gave is in my local city but belongs to a law firm that handles divorce and family matters only. I called them and shared someone was using their physical address in order to perpetuate a scam. I have since filed a police report, forwarded everything I learned to them and literally told them they can go F themselves. Don't give them any money! Jerks!
