I called to get prepaid phone service from Verizon Wireless. The salesman, Tim, charged me $80 and "set it up" using an old phone my daughter gave me. After trying to use my service with no results for 8 hours I was told that I could not get service unless I went out and bought a prepaid phone. Included was a $25 setup fee. It turned out that Tim charged me for post-paid service in the name of prepaid. He didn't know what he was doing, I guess. I spoke with several people, including the supervisor, Elliott, to my request. He told me he'd issue a refund anyway because it wasn't my fault, even though it was against their policy, and said it should appear in my account in 2 business days. I called back, and they said they aren't giving me a refund, even though I never had service through them. That is FRAUD AND THEFT. You don't charge someone and not give them something in return.
