I came across a payphone and I needed to make a long distance phone call which stated on the machine that they were 1 dollar. This machine was like no other I remembered before in the past because on this payphone you could actually use a credit card. I was leery at first but being that I had no coins I went for it. I made two calls that night. The next day upon checking my credit card balance, I found 51.00 of my money pending and this company was the reason. When I called wmactl, the guy told me that using a credit card is more expensive then using coins. He admitted that this info was not posted on all their machines, but the automactic system mentions this which was a complete lie. I assure you if a system told me that my call would cost 25 Dollars I would not have went through with my first call let alone dial upmfor a second call!!! He said he would see what he could do, that he could not remove charges but he could reduce them. I ask to speak to supervisor because I dont want an reduction I want ALL my money back!! He tells me that he has the same power as a supervisor. He then tells me he can refund me back 17 dollars. I am mad, I still want the supervisor. He then says, ok I am going to do this for you but this is honestly the most I can do for you .. ill give you 50 percent refund. I said, so you are telling me in order for me to talk to your supervisor i have to agree to 50 percent refund.? He said supervisor out call back in one hr. I didnt even wait 15 min before I called back and they were CLOSED. First I want to warn you people in this situation, please dont agree to ANYTHING they offer because once an agreement is made it is hard to dispute as fraudulent. This is the scam part. I learned that my credit card company could have disputed the whole amount if wmactl collected my money. Which means through my credit card support I would have receieved all my money back and not just the 50 percent wmactl swore was the best they could do. Once I learned this piece of info, I called back the next day demanding to speak to supervisor. It was a hassle before one even came on the phone, but once one finally did I told him my dilemma. He tried acting like he too couldnt help me. Ihe told me I already agreed to a 50 percent refund. I told him I didnt agree to anything and I want my money back.i threatened to dispute charges I called them scammers frauds and liars. I swear to you not, the very next thing the man said was... we can charge you 1dollar for each call and refund you back all your money. He then said your confirmation number is THE SAME as it was before when I agreed to 50 percent refund. Wait, why would I want the same confirmation number as someone who pretended to be me and agreed to only 50 percent of my money back?.... I dont want the same number as a potential fraud!!!! He gave me a different confirmation number which read all the same letters and number with only the very last number being different. This was a true definition of a SCAM. But knowledge is power, dont let them fool you. I wish they had wmactl in my hometown so I could call my local news and have them investigate and publicsize them for what they truly are, A FRAUD!!!!!!
