I called this company because they were listed as "security providers for Apple". I asked if they were part of Apple and they assured me that they were contractors for Apple. They first offered me life time security (mine not the computer's) for $399. I waffled a bit and the supposed tech consulted his manager and reduced it to $299. He kept talking about hackers getting into my computer and insisted on taking over the computer to see the problem. Once he got into the computer he was insistent that I had problems that needed to be cleaned up and fixed immediately , supposedly showing me hacker activity that put me in urgent need of security. I reluctantly agreed to buy the package, but when he tried to install it I didn't have the correct password. He kept telling me to just be patient, and find the right one. Long story short, I hung up and contacted Apple Care which I should have done in the beginning. I called American Express to cancel the charge but 24 hrs. later it hasn't cleared so hasn't been reversed. They are harassing me now, calling me at home and on my cell phone. They claim to have installed software but of course couldn't have because they didn't have my password, thank goodness. Their scam was pressuring me to buy an unneeded program at a highly inflated price, (the program they were installing - I saw the Norton software page- was a fraction of the $299 they were going to charge me.)
