Same thing- they offered swimming pool work with foreclosures through actual real estate companies and needed 99.00 for a "background check". I feel like an idiot also. Seemed reasonable at the time but later realized it was too good to be true. After no leads, I googled it and found the scam reports. Should have done that in the first place. Hopefully American Express will refund transaction and help bust them.
