I received a phone call from a person with a foreign accent saying they were calling to check my computer for virus's and other problems. We had had a problem with our computer last April and my not computer literate husband had contracted with Sach Solutions to solve the problem. Today's caller said he needed to take control of my computer, which he did at 10:30AM. After scanning the hard drive he said he needed MacKeeper tools to finish the job. He tried to sell me one of four different plans ranging frontman 1 year to lifetime protection, priced from $249 to $500. I told him I was not prepared to buy anything until I had investigated other options. He then said he would be working on my computer remotely and would call in about an hour when he was finished. At 3:00PM, I called him and insisted he release my computer. He said he was unable to complete the service on my computer because I had not bought the MacKeeper program. I am concerned that he now has free access to my computer network.
