A college girl came to my apartment selling magazines and telling me she was winning tuition money and a trip to Italy. I felt bad for her so I decided to by one magazine. She told me she only accepted checks or cash and since I didn't have either, she asked if I could go to an ATM and take put cash. I did that and she gave me my receipt. 10 minutes later my girlfriend informed me I made a mistake so I found the girl and asked for my money back. She gave me this excuse that it was already recorded and I could only get a refund if I mailed in the cancellation receipt. I fell for that again and I mailed it in. 2 weeks later I received a letter from the company saying they would be happy to give me a refund if I sent them a copy of my canceled check. However I paid in cash so clearly there is no way for me to mail a copy. Basically I just got scammed
