I needed technical support for my Gateway desktop. I did a search for Gateway technical support and was given a number 1-877-526-4466. The person who answered the phone misrepresented themselves as the official, new company that gives technical support to all gateway and acer computers. After handing over money, I found out that this company is a huge scam. They have been remotely accessing my computer without my permission. They did not fix my computer problem but instead removed my virus protection"Norton and Macafee" and installed what they claim was a "microsoft virus protection". The software they installed caused multiple pop ups that would block you from accessing the computer. Each time I called answersby.com for help they lied and said they need to put me on hold and will call back which they never did. They refused a refund and continue to lie about calling back to fix problems which they do not fix. I am scared that they are able to get into my computer without my permission now.
