There were two young adult males that came to my door in the early afternoon pitching sales for magazine subscriptions. They claimed that they were in a competition and the prize was that they would win a trip to Paris for education. There appearance looked to be from low income areas and they did not fit the profile to be on a fund raiser for a study abroad type program. Now me being soft at heart, I signed up for a magazine subscription to help their cause. A few hours later my common sense came back to me and I decided to do some research on this company. Well here I am writing this knowing I got ripped off. I have placed a stop payment on the check I wrote hoping that the funds will not be withdrawn. Should I be worried about them having my account information on the check itself? Or is the stop payment good enough? I want to just say that in hindsight, I should have asked more probing questions instead of being so gullible. I hope this review deters anyone who may run into this same situation.
