During December 2012 I was changing my email provider to gmail and was told, by who I thought was a representative of Gmail (I had called the number shown on the internet for Gmail assistance), to have my computer checked for virus, this could be done locally at places like Staples, however could be done online immediately for $299.00 which to my chagrin I consented to. I paid by credit card and when I received my statement found that payment had been made to Upclick. I received a Certificate for 1 Year Technical SupportI with Microsoft Mail Services Inc. As I was having problems with sending emails I called Microsoft Mail Services Inc., also known as Microsoft Support Service, several times without the problem being resolved and was eventually able to fix it myself.
I contact who I thought was Microsoft to report the above use of their name, however found out that I was in fact dealing with the same people I had dealt with at Microsoft Support Services (one female used the same name as being with Microsoft as she was using for Microsoft Support Service.
Lately I have been deluged with calls from "Microsoft" telling me my computer was infected and wanting to get into it. The last caller said he was renewing my contract which I told him in no uncertain terms NOT TO.
