Use of known scammer for outsourced e-mail account service provider - GTH.US.COM Date of Issue: Friday November 8, 2013 Reason for Customer Care Call: Needed to change the credit card for automated billing. Problem Description: My e-mail account was locked out due to a change of my credit card information. I call the toll free help number on the lock out message. I was passed from agent to agent. Four separate call sessions were engaged as they attempted to solve my issue. The fourth session was engaged with GTH.US.COM. I was told that this company handles all of the e-mail accounts for Yahoo / ATT. A representative named Sourav got on the line with me and immediately asked to have me down load software called LOGMEIN. I did as he asked and he created a remote control session to my computer. He then told me that a "senior technician" would be taking over the call. The senior person started telling me that he could see that my e-mail account was being compromised by IP addresses outside the United States. He took control of my PC and started running a CMD session and performed a NETSTAT diagnostic in the command shell. At that point I told him that he must close that session - I ONLY NEED TO CHANGE MY BILLING INFORMATION. He said fine, but "It will cost you money." I told him that this was ridiculous and closed the remote control session immediately. He then simply hung up on me. I call them back (The previous representative gave me a direct phone number - 347-468-9609.) and asked them to look me up again. I asked for help with the billing change. They told me that it would be a $99.00 charge to change the billing information. I told them "NO" and hung up. This company is a known SCAM operation. They have numerous complaints on file. Yahoo and ATT should NOT be directing their customers to this organization. I did eventually (10 different reps) get to a person who changed my billing. This was only after I told them directly that I did NOT want to be connected to Great Tech Help (GTH) and insisted on a manager escalation. Please find out why a legitimate business like Yahoo is sourcing to a known SCAM Operation for it's tech support of e-mail accounts!!
