Iphone 5 was damaged in water. I have apple care plus. I typed in apple care support and clicked on the first link that popped up. The representatives claimed to work for apple. They said apple care plus did not cover water damage. They asked me to ship in my phone and it would cost about 150$ to "diagnose" the problem and then I would get a quote on how much it would cost to either fix or replace the phone. A week later I was charged 300$ for a refurbished phone. Later on, I had an issue with the same phone. Apple has no record that my phone was even damaged. Worse, the phone I have now is a different serial number than the one they have on file because its a different phone and I dont know if they will cover this new phone. They told me that it would have only cost 49$ to get a replacement phone and I would have gotten it IMMEDIATELY at an apple retail store! When I called back My Tech help to complain, the guy said they would get back to me in 3-5 business days. To protect myself, I called again and pretended that I had the same issue...this time recording their response. Same scenario. The guy pretended to be an apple representative and told me apple care plus didnt cover it. This time I have it recorded. I will call them back again. If I dont get my $, I will take them to small claims court.
