I applied for a job on Elance.com as an Assistant Administrator. I was sent an email saying that they were offering me the job for 24.50. The job description stated that the key role would be working in the billing for a healthcare field. During the email exchange, this person instructed me to sign on to yahoo. I complied thinking this was a legitimate job. This person briefed me and stated that the company was an electronics distributor. This I found strange. I asked for a website. They provided www.dhuma.webstarts.com. Upon visiting the website, it was neither a billing or electronics distributor, but instead it was a webstart website. This person said that they would provide an advance so I could purchase software and hardware. This was supposed to have been sent last week. Today I received it and it was a check from some bogus company. No instructions or anything. Just a plain check for 2600.00. I did not take it to my bank because at this point I am very skeptical. I suspect they are not from the US
