Like a good soldier I changed from MYVCONNECT to OFFENDERCONNECT as directed by the former. When I activated my new account with Offenderconnect I was happy to see there was NOT the $100 limit that myvconnect had. The fee of $7.95 each time you add funds can really put a bite in the budget. Today I logged on to add another $100, which is what we try to keep our monthly allocation in...and to my surprise the maximum to add is now $50!!!!!!! Someone is really taking advantage of the families and friends of those who are incarcerated. It is, in my opinion, a criminal act towards us, who can least afford it. To already be charged $3.50 for 30 minutes of a LOCAL call, and now with almost $16.00 a month added to our phone bill, it is outrageous! This is the straw that broke this camel's back and I intend to take this to the media. We will likely be making these calls for many years to come, so the cost is difficult to calculate...but the agrevation and feelings of degredation alone carry a hefty monetary value.
