My computer was acting up and sending popups like crazy and kicking me out if I was idle for 3 min. I looked online to find the number for HP. The number I called was 1-888-866-2025, I was connected to a guy that said he was from HP, (he was not an HP tech) he told me I had a hacker looking at my files and the had 60% of my information and would have the other 40% shortly. He told me that I only had a warranty on my hardware for my computer. He said he would transfer me to Itechline co. to fix my computer but it would cost me $199.99. I was so panicked and did not think, and this guy and this company was scamming me. They were in my computer three times and and my computer still was not fixed. I could not get them to return my calls. I found another number for HP in my records and called it, the tech told me that I had never talked to HP it was a scam. He then got into my computer and fixed it and gave me the correct numbers to call when I needed to get in touch with HP. The HP Tech was very good and he fixed my computer..I always have seen things like this happen to other people and now it happened to me....Be careful if you need to call HP, only use this number 1-800-474-6836, never, never, never get a number from online unless you google it. I was able to call my credit card and report these people and open a Fraud case and got my money back. Please be aware the this company will just take your money and it is a scam.....The company name is ITechLine and it has nothing to do with HP.
