I google tech support for ASUS and got MyTechHelps number, so I called the number thinking it was ASUS.

I explained the issue i'm having with the representative I asked him if i can get rid of the viruses if i do a re-install of the OS and he told me "no the virus stays in your hard drive" and he instructed me to look for the service number on the back of the computer, after giving him the service number he then told me in order to get help I need to sign up for a plan because my warranty expired and so I agreed thinking its ASUS they charged me $99.99 for remote assistance.. but they could'nt load their remote access program on safemode so they told me that I need to sign up for a hardware plan which cost $119.99 they then told me that they will e-mail the shipping label in 15 minutes

I boot my computer on normal and called them again once they have access to my computer remotely they told me that I don't have an anti virus and that they have one for $99.99 with a $99.99 rebate after 30 days if i remember correctly. I told them that I can get a free one from the DoD and then mockingly told me that "DoD anti virus is not updated regularly"

The scan finish after 3-4 hours and shows that I have several viruses so they deleted it but a few of them still shows on my task manager like winrscmde etc. and so they told me to just send it in and they will re-install the OS I also asked them to fix BIOS because I put a password while messing around with it.

I sent the computer to them and almost 2 weeks later they still havent finish the diagnosis. I called several times. Then they called and told me that I need a new hard drive and suggested a memory upgrade. since they already have the computer I was forced to pay $329.97 since I want my computer fixed bad and they already have it and I already spent $300+ on it. the "tech" told me it passed quality inspection and that BIOS is working and that it'll be shipped back to me. I asked for a receipt and all I got is an e-mail saying you paid this and that.
They wouldn't give me the product key of the new OS they've installed or the product number of the hard drive and memory stick and labor fee etc.

they put it on FedEx ground and after I received it I went right away to power it on... I hit F2 or Del key but could'nt access BIOS then I let it boot... while booting, it shows a geeksqaud logo and later I found out that they left a CD in the computer and without it the computer would look for DCHP something.. and takes forever to load. also windows update wont start, intel turbo boost monitor wont work, and defender wont work so I called them again for remote assistance and while the tech is working on it she did a scan and the anti virus locks up the computer asking for permission every time you hit ok she could'nt get out of the lock and told me that I need to send it back to them so I turn it off and I noticed that it takes forever for it to shut down. I received the shipping label and shipped it to them the next day. I google MyTechHelp and found out that there is a lot of complain about them and I got this dread feeling my computer is not in good hands. so I called my bank and filled a fraud complain. Visa refunded me the charges on my account.
about 5 days later I received a call from one of the tech saying the hard drive is corrupted nad that it needs to be replaced and is asking another $294.99 so I asked them isn't there a warranty and the tech gave me a lecture about consumables and what is not covered by warranty so I told his face that they were the one who installed it and I paid $329.97 for that hard drive the tech couldnt reply to me. It really makes me wonder if there is really something wrong with the original hard drive I have or if they're just trying to make sale. so the tech put me on hold to talk to his manager and then told me that maybe a new computer is better than getting this one fixed. the guy is obviously still trying to scam me and make sale. I told them that i wont pay anymore so later on he told me the manager "OK's" a new hard drive that it was within the 30 days still... I don't believe anything they say anymore so i just go with the flow... he also told me that BIOS is working now and that he personally visually inspected it. the computer on fedex 2day at the moment.

stay away from these guys. I spent both of my days off on the phone with them on remote assistance and it seems like I know more about computers than they do. its a big waste of time. I shouldve just let bestbuy fix it. I also called ASUS after I shipped my computer and got mad at their representative cause he cant tell me the status of my comp I later realized that I shipped it to MyTechHelp and not ASUS and told them i'm sorry.
