I replied to an ad on Craigslist advertising a 13" Macbook Air laptop for $450. I responded to the ad asking details about the sale. I received an email identifying details of the transaction and a third party company, Rapid Parcel, to hold the money while I inspect the computer. I researched the company and unfortunately it didn't yield the scam that it was. I have recently seen complaints filed with you giving the same language I was sent about the product and expectations. The seller was Bruce Mayberry. The information is exactly the same.

He stated "I'm selling it because I don't need it.
I was checking for a way to make the exchange from here to you in the US
and I came across this option, which is a very good way to make this
exchange.
It's provided by a company called RapidParcel and it will help us with
this transaction.
They seem designed specifically for internet transactions, they handle
both the payment and delivery part of this transaction. They seem pretty
nice and trustworthy and they provide a service that we can use for our
exchange.
The link below is from RapidParcel website and it explains their
procedure. Please check the link and the procedure and let me know if
you agree to the terms.

With this procedure RapidParcel will deliver the laptop to you, receive
your payment and I will receive the payment for the laptop only after
you instruct them to do so.
I will pay the shipping.
Let me know if we can proceed.

Cheers."

Then he responded
"Hi,

RapidParcel just emailed me the invoice.
Did you receive it?

Cheers."

and of courser responded again

"> Hi,
>
> I sent the laptop today.
> Next they will inspect the laptop and then send you the invoice.
> One more thing, Rapid Parcel said that you will have to pay a $45 fee
> when you will send the payment to them. I wasn't aware of this high
> fee. But I will know in the future.
> I've lowered the price to $405 so your total price will be as we have
> agreed, $450. I am not happy about this fee but I am a man of my word,
> I don't want you to pay any hidden fees.
> Keep me in touch.
>
> Cheers."

I received a invoice for delivery and delivery date of today at 1:00pm. When it didn't arrive I sent an email to customer service. No response. That's when I searched some more and saw a complaint on this site describing the exact same thing.

Is there any way to recover my money?
