AMAC solicits membership claiming excellence over AARP for $16.00 an amount for which you can include a spouse for free. I, being single, cancelled my membership in AARP and mailed AMAC $8.00. (AARP recognizes single members.) AMAC cashed my check #1097 and I never received any communication or the promised membership kit. I have written to AMAC and sent e-mails (the last being 02/08/2013)- and I've heard nothing. Today I got another solicittion for membership. Is this today's conservative party that discriminates against individuals who are single? I feel taken and dismissed - I have to pay for a spouse I do not have?

  • heather...no where does amac make the promise that it is only $8 for a single membership. why you assumed that is your problem. to make a complaint against them for that shows lack of character on your part. maybe you should go back to aarp.
